Student Statement
We choose to give a representation of the process of deforestation through the various stages that it occurs. The starting dominos give the representation of rich soil with the mixture of organic matter in it to represent what a healthy forest may look like. This is followed by the bare soil when trees are knocked down. The agricultural dominos have a mixture of seeds and metal embedded within the soil to represent that machinery is used at this time. This is followed by the last layer of dominos in which we represented an urban feel by putting asphalt within the soil.
