Diesen beyden Ehegatten, als: David Lang/und seiner ehelichen Hausfrau Catharina geborne/ ist ein Sohn zu Welt gebohren, im Jahr unsers/Herrn 1825 den 30sten Tag October, um Uhr /und erhielt in der heiligen Taufe den Namen Georg /von Ehrw. Prediger Hiester. Taufzeugen waren David/und Catharina Lang. Obiges Kind ist gebohren/und getauft in Amerika, im Staat Pennsylvanien, im Caunty/Libanon, in Anville Taunschip.
Wann wir kaum geboren werden, ist vom ersten Lebenstritt, bis ins kühle Grab der Erden,/nur ein kurzgemessener Schritt. Ach mit jedem Augenblick, gehet unsre Kraft zu-/rück und wir sind mit jedem Jahre, allzureif zur Todtenbahre; und [wer] weiß/in welcher Stunde, uns sind [die] lezte Stimme weckt. Dann Gott hats mit seinem Munde, keinem Menschen noch entdeckt./Wer sein Haus nun wohl bestellt, geht mit/Freuden aus der Welt. Da die/Sicherheit hingegen ewiges/Sterben kann erregen.

Ich bin getauft, ich steh’ im Bunde,/Durch meinen Tauf mit meinem Gott,/So sprech ich stets mit frohem Munde:/In Kreuz, in Trübsal, Angst und Noth/Ich bin getauft das freu ich mich,/Die Freude bleibt mir ewiglich.
Ich bin getauft ob ich gleich sterbe,/Was schadet mir das kühle Grab?/Ich weiß mein Vaterland und Erbe/Das ich bey Gott im Himmel hab,/Nach meinem Tod ist mir bereit,/Des Himmels Freud und Feyerkleid.
Translation
To both of these spouses, David Lang and his legal wife Catharina born is a son to the world born, in the year of our Lord, 1825 the 30th Day of October, at o’clock and received in the holy Baptism the name Georg by Reverend Preacher Hiester. Baptismal sponsors were David and Catharina Lang. Above-mentioned child was born and baptized in America in the state of Pennsylvania in the County Lebanon in Annville Township.

This is the only known example of this certificate with a printed infill, which could have been done with Stöver’s typeface. The lower part of the large heart is decorated with 15 individual stamps used in the border of the heart. Some small variations in the usual text appear, most notably the deletion of wer in “Und [wer] weiß” and the die and addition of sind in “uns sind [die] letzte Stimme..."
