Translation

When we are just born…

Birth and Baptismal Certificate. To both of these spouses, Daniel Ziegler and his legal wife Julianna a born Gank is a daughter to the world born in the year of our Lord 1817 the 19th Day of December. This daughter was born in Codorus Township in York County in the free state of Pennsylvania, was baptized by the Reverend Mister F. A. Scholl and received the name Annamaria. The baptismal sponsors were John Ziegler and wife Barbara.

D. P. Lange, Printer, Hanover (Penn.) 1830.

Comment

Lange used the same angel and eagle images from PAG1998.199 in this piece. Here the artist colored their gowns green in two sections to create a bare midriff section, despite the printed full-length garment they are wearing.
