Translation

Holy Wound in Jesus' side, spark you deeply into the heart, make that it [the wound] also still today teaches, like Thomas[,] be faithful. From L. Hübener to Mother Köhler.

Comment

The pietistic text on this piece addressing the holy wounds of Christ is indicative that it is Moravian, as the Moravians seem to have employed this image frequently in writing and prayer. The reference to “Mother Köhler” and the Luesa Koehler who signed this piece and two others are likely the same person.
