Description
This handwritten letter, circa 1988, from a student to members of Congress, is regarding the Union County, Kentucky, grave desecration. This is one of dozens of similar letters sent to Congress as part of a campaign to influence tougher legislation on the looting of burial sites.

I think that you or they shouldn't dig up that burial ground for Indians, should R.I.P. Ha would you dig up the cemetery of Americans? So put the artifact back and the [skulls] back [where] it was. Because Indians don't like [their] burial ground [messed] with. Just like you don't like yours [messed] with. And I think that the farmer was [illegible] to take whatever he took was [wrong]. I demand you put a mark around the whole burial ground and put every thing back.
