Project Description

In this introductory podcast episode, I unpack Calvin Daniel Yost’s book, Ursinus College: A History of its First Hundred Years, and Kitty Dawson’s thesis, The History of Women’s Rights at Ursinus College: Female Spheres on Campus During the Post-World War II Era. We discuss the college’s change into a coeducational institution and the extent to which the college environment provided a space for female students to thrive. We further rely on testimony from the Ursinus College Field Hockey oral history collection featuring women from different eras.
