Description
Skyscraper building formed from chicken wire, cardboard, gauze wrap and soil. This temporary sculpture was created by Ursinus College students in linked Art and Biology classes in conjunction with World Soil Day.
The sculpture was installed on the first floor of Myrin Library.
Student Statement
This piece depicts soil erosion. The side of this building is dented in and falling apart with soil going down the side. “No Soil, No Cities” meaning without soil, there would be no cities. Soil is a main part of life and we need it to survive.
