Description
The 1993 UNESCO World Heritage site, Himeji Castle, stands tall on a sunny spring day. Also called White Crane Castle, Himeji Castle was home to princess Senhime who moved there after being rescued from a burning Osaka castle siege. The castle has undergone many transformations, including several restoration projects and a brief stint as an army barracks in the late 1800s. Today, it stands as a living symbol of Japanese history and culture.
