Description
This is the thirty-fifth page of a scrapbook assembled and presented to Eleanor Snell by her student athletes on the occasion of Snell’s retirement testimonial dinner in May, 1970.
This page features a notice from the Ursinus Weekly newspaper announcing the beginning of softball at Ursinus College.
The text reads: "Girls Add a Sport! Miss Eleanor Snell, coach of women's sports, has announced the beginning of softball competition for girls. The first schedule will include Penn and possibly other near-by coeducational schools. All those girls who are capable of wielding a bat will be welcomed to the practices which will begin in the near future."
