Description
This handwritten letter, circa 1988, from a student to members of Congress, is regarding the Union County, Kentucky, grave desecration. This is one of dozens of similar letters sent to Congress as part of a campaign to influence tougher legislation on the looting of burial sites.

Dear people of the congress
I don't think you have a good good idea about your little plan. Don't you understand the Indians might of put them there for a reason. Don't you think the Indians wouldn't let you do this if they were alive. If you were a Indian you wouldn't let anyone dig up the stuff you and the other Indians buried. I wouldn't either. I know you would like to do it but please take my advice do not do it.
