Description
This handwritten letter, circa 1988, from a student to members of Congress, is regarding the Union County, Kentucky, grave desecration. This is one of dozens of similar letters sent to Congress as part of a campaign to influence tougher legislation on the looting of burial sites.

Dear people of the Congress,
I don't think that it is a good idea of digging up the graves in Union County, Kentucky. You shouldn't dig up people's bodies or heads. I know you want to do that, you wouldn't like it if it happened to you. Wouldn't you do it if the Indians were around?
