This limited edition original poster reprints an 1843 painting by John Mix Stanley titled "1843 International Indian Council". This poster was given to participants in the 150th anniversary of the International Indian Council held September 13-15, 1993 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The poster also features a quotation by Cherokee Chief John Ross: "Let us therefore, so act that the peace which existed between our forefathers may be pursued, and that we may always live as members of the same family."
