Description

This original poster depicts a portrait of Chief Seattle and contains a portion of the text from his 1854 oration. This part is titled "In Memory Of The American Indian". Chief Seattle was the Chief of the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes and befriended white settlers in the area. Quotations on the poster are dated as originating in 1855.
