Comments

A volume from the private library of the Reverend John Henry Augustus Bomberger (1817-1890), founder and first President of Ursinus College.

Hodge was the son of Charles Hodge with whom Bomberger agreed at many points with regard to the "errors" of the Mercersburg versions of Reformed dogmatics.

For many years Bomberger served as an official fraternal delegate from the Reformed Church to meetings of both the Presbyterian and Dutch Reformed churches. He and his colleagues in the Ursinus movement often urged union attempts with such sister denominations.
