Description
Students created colorful glass projects in the interdisciplinary course "Form and Fusion: The Art and Science of Ceramics and Glass" at Ursinus College in Spring 2026. In this photo, student Lucy McGinty works on her glass flower pieces. These pieces were part of her group's larger "Earth" themed project, which was presented to the campus during the Celebration of Student Achievement on April 29, 2026.
Student Statement
I really wanted to add flowers to compliment our theme of the earth. I made four flowers to hang above, trying to replicate a flowering tree with branches hanging down. I wanted to utilize the opaque glass because, honestly, this type of glass did not seem to be popular - so I wanted to use it up and include it to represent sustainability in our environment.
