Sir:
I take pleasure in informing you that the Honorable Samuel W. Smith is a Representative in the Congress of the United States from the State of Michigan; that the Honorable George F. Huff is a Representative in the Congress of the United States from the State of Pennsylvania, and that Mr. Thomas G. Brady, of West Virginia, is recommended to the Department by them.
I commend these gentlemen to your most considerate attention, and cordially bespeak for them such courtesies as are due to persons of their eminent position.
