My dear Mr. Minister:
Mr. Charles H. Sherrill, of New York, has been definitely selected for appointment as Minister to the Argentine Republic and the President would like to send his nomination to the Senate as soon as possible.
May I therefore ask you to be good enough to ascertain by telegraph whether his appointment would be agreeable to your Government.
I am, my dear Mr. Portela,
Very sincerely yours,
[signature]
Senor Don Epifanio Portela,
