Project Description
Emergence is a fantasy, multi-form novel following a dynamic cast of characters as they investigate the sudden appearance of seven magical geodes. The race is on, and with entire kingdoms attempting to lay claim to these mystical stones and harness their magic for themselves, long-standing power structures that once seemed immobile begin to be openly challenged. As a multi-form piece, some chapters of Emergence are told in “typical” narrative prose while others diverge drastically to include forms like poetry, epistolary, and even a newspaper! This amalgamation of styles aims to replicate the ways in which we understand our own political history: not through a singularly voiced narrative, but through the collection of many primary and secondary sources, each with their own perspectives.
