Project Description
Ambiguity: Hope & Hopelessness is an anthology of poetry that includes poems about a wide variety of topics and emotions. As a young queer woman, I wrote poems about coming to terms with my sexuality, the experiences of women, and what growing up means. The anthology is broken down into three sections: “Love”, “Loss”, and “Loathe”. Each of these sections pulls apart what each of these words mean and how they relate to growing up. The section “Love” often has poems that reflect what romantic, platonic, and parental love looks like, while the section “Loss” deals with what the loss of these loves looks like. “Loathe”, however, deals with the bigotry and hypocrisy that women and queer people face. The poems depict both the anger itself and the injustice of the experience.
