Abstract
Public Reading #3, the last within the series from Dr. Keita's Spoken Word course, presents audiences with new material devoted to praising, protesting, and testifying. The students of Spoken Word have really outdone themselves in engaging their emotions to their pieces, which hopefully audiences are able to notice throughout the reading.
The Praise-Protest-Testimony workshop was meant for the students to break out of their comfort level of writing and express themselves, emotionally and personally, more through these three specific topics. The poems are driven more by content versus form.
