Description
Walking alone across the damaged roof of a fort involved in the Battle of Verdun in World War I, learning about the effects of the war first-hand. In the distant background, the French flag still waves high above the fort. While nature has all but reclaimed the battlefields, the bumps in the grass represent scars of craters left by artillery over one hundred years ago.
