Description
I may have been in the desert, but I was not alone in my pursuit. The man pictured led my friends and I by camel to where we would stay, but our break in between the final destination mattered the most. He rolled out a blanket, and we talked all in the sand before the final leg of our journey. We learned of his life in a place we couldn’t have imagined, and we told him of our homes. Having just recently arrived to Morocco at this point, I was swiftly realizing I would have a much larger learner curve than anticipated. However, during this time, I felt not so alone in this, as he explained the little things one couldn’t know from a textbook. This is the real beauty of studying in a country such as Morocco, for as to truly understand, there is no learning except for relying on others.
