Artist statement:
"Every four years the American populace is inundated with political hype. Candidates attempt to create a pristine image that connects to as much of the electorate as possible. Similar to the candidates during the election process, the sculpture (candidate) appears bright and attractive from a distance; however, as you get closer you notice that the model is rough - a fragmented facade with broken edges. My goal was to recreate the impressions of the candidates that I witnessed during the election process by using mirror so that the viewer would see their own reflection in the face of the politician."
