Dear Mr. Shoemaker,
Reading, Pa
Dear sir: I am enclosing a chart of the zodiac and the verses to each one. Start upper left hand corner and go clockwise. If I made any errors, perhaps some one knows the correct one, but so far as I can remember, those are the ones we always recited. Also this one.
Hinnick Hanna Hocker Hickory Holy Howpa
Howvich Hunnert Hansa Harrick Huschta
And this jingle; always recited after rainy weather and the sun shines again.
Die Sun scheindt, es Fegely greindt,
Hucked einer uff en Lawda
Undt schpinned en Longa Fawda,
Hucked einer uff em Dauch,
Undt hutt sich hoha doht gelaucht.
Perhaps my spelling isn’t any too good, but I’m sure you will be able to read it.
Yours truly
Mrs. Mabel M. Nagle
