A variant, of your May nineteen rhymes and jingles, you want?
Here is my father’s version of one of them:
“Drivva drovva drauss
Schteedt en backaschteena hauss
Drei scheena bobba gucka rauss
Eeni schpinnt seide
Eeni flecht weida
Eeni macht en ruck
Far der Chonny Keesa-Buck
(My dialect spelling is poor - you will have to change it).
Many times my father healed a hurt with
Heeli, keeli, heebe dreck
Bis Marys frie is alles weck.
For rivvel supp, try butter, milk and cream, rivvels and lots of cinnamon!!!
