Description
This Philadelphia county tax notice, written to Frederick Shingle in 1803, assesses the amount of estate and personal taxes owed. It also notes the date of appeal at the Courthouse.
This notice was found in an account ledger attributed to Friederich Schenckel (d.1810).

Please take Notice, That you are rated 633 dollars, at 30 cents in every hundred dollars for your Estate; and a Personal-tax of dollar and 50 cents, in the County-tax, for the present Year. The day of appeal is on the 6 day June at nine o'clock in the forenoon, at the old Court-house.
