Joyce E. Henry (1927-2011) was hired in 1972 at Ursinus College in the English Department. Beginning as an advisor to the drama club, she soon founded proTheatre and directed more than fifty plays at the college from 1981 until her retirement in 1999. Her productions were first held in Wismer Hall and the old gymnasium, but she was instrumental in transforming that space into the Ritter Center for Dramatic Arts and establishing a Theater Department. This collection of scrapbooks, programs, photographs, slides and documents chronicles much of her work and is named in honor of Joyce's contributions to theater at Ursinus College.
