Comments

A volume from the private library of the Reverend John Henry Augustus Bomberger (1817-1890), founder and first President of Ursinus College.

This devotional aid's flyleaf reveals that it came into Bomberger's possession while he was a pastor in Easton, Pennsylvania, (1845-1854) and while he was on the threshold of prominence in the denomination as the initial champion of liturgical studies - an interest which, two decades later, led him into conflict with Nevin.

Liguori was the founder of the Redemptionist Order in Roman Catholicism.
