Comments

A volume from the private library of the Reverend John Henry Augustus Bomberger (1817-1890), founder and first President of Ursinus College.

This publication by British evangelicals represented their struggles against the Oxford movement in English Anglicanism during the nineteenth century. On several occasions Bomberger styled himself an "evangelical" of this order, fighting the "Oxford-like" nature of the Mercersburg movement in his own denomination.
