Herbaria, 1884-1901

This collection consists of digital images of plant specimens found in Ursinus College student herbaria dating from 1884 to 1892. Each herbarium was created as part of a botany class. Students were required to present a number of properly identified and mounted plants in order to successfully complete the course. The samples found in these books were collected by students Irvin C. Williams, Alice Blanchford, Albert S. Bromer, Mame K. Schwenk and F. R. Wertz. Additional samples, dating from 1901 and collected by J. Ralph Wertz, were found in the F. R. Wertz herbarium.
