Paula Álvarez is the Director of International Programs at Ursinus College and Marlie Derstine is a Study Abroad and International Student Advisor. On this webinar, we discuss the financial implications students may face when they study abroad, as well as how political and economic factors may affect their study abroad experience. Paula and Marlie also help us understand the nuances and details of study abroad, such as insurance, housing, and how study abroad is funded.

About the Guest
Paula Álvarez is the Director of International Programs at Ursinus College. She attained an M.A. in Law from Universidad Complutense of Madrid, an A.B.D. (All But Dissertation) in International Private Law from Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and an M.A. in International Marketing from Confederación Empresarial de Madrid. She has been a lecturer in Spanish and Italian at Ursinus since 2000 and has had extensive work experience in Europe and Latin America.
Marlie Derstine is a Study Abroad and International Student Advisor at Ursinus College. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University. Prior to Ursinus, she taught overseas in Thailand and owned her own Media Marketing business.
