Description

Students created colorful glass projects in the interdisciplinary course "Form and Fusion: The Art and Science of Ceramics and Glass" at Ursinus College in Spring 2026. In this photo, student Kate Adams' finished glass angelfish piece is seen on the lawn of the campus. This piece was part of her group's larger "Ocean" themed project which was presented to the campus as part of the Celebration of Student Achievement on April 29, 2026.

Student Statement

In our group we wanted the pieces to feel submerged under the water. With the 3-D boxes we executed that through the creation of four blue walls to represent the ocean. In my design specifically, I wanted to work with the idea of movement. By having the three fish loosely hung it allows for the idea of them swimming in the water.
