Dear Mr. Oviat:

By your letter of the 2nd you are good enough to ask for my photograph for the Weekly, and I have much pleasure in sending it by this mail.

Many thanks for your kind congratulation upon my appointment to this post, one which I find so interesting as fully to console me for giving up the alternative Latin-American experience.

I continue to blush about the review of "Colonization". I promise to send you one within a fortnight, either written by me or written by Mr. Charlton, a Yale man who is the legal officer of the Insular Bureau and is far better qualified than I to deal with this subject, or else by us two in collaboration.

With kind regards, I remain,

Yours sincerely,

[signature]

Edwin Oviat, Esquire,
The Yale Alumni Weekly,
New Haven, Connecticut.
