The engagements of the Secretary of State are such that to his regret he will be unable to have the pleasure of receiving you Thursday or Friday. By his direction I am very happy to offer to be of any service in case you could conveniently call at the Department tomorrow (Thursday) between 2 and 4 o'clock.
