Project Description
This experiment measured the interaction strength between fluorescently labeled DNA and carbon nanotubes by fluorescence spectroscopy. The extent of DNA adsorption on CNTs was measured by the fluorescence intensity of single-stranded DNA labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate. As DNA is desorbed from CNTs, the fluorescence intensity increased since CNTs efficiently quench fluorescence. The activation energy of desorption process was calculated for a 25 base long homopolymer oligomer.
