Project Description
A library of fluorescent rhodols through a one pot synthesis under mild conditions without the use of precious metals. The method was optimized via 1H NMR monitoring by testing several reaction variables. The optimized conditions were applied to fluorescein derivatives to prepare a series of N-alkyl rhodols and the products were characterized. Application and derivatization to related fluorophores is discussed.
