Abstract
De Novo Due Ferri Single Chain (DFsc) proteins model the active sites of many naturally occurring metalloenzymes. Studying the binuclear zinc form of these proteins will allow for greater comprehension of the impact that specific amino acids have on the hydrolytic activity of the protein. The emphasis of this semester's research has been on the characterization of zinc DFsc variants. After purification and reconstitution of the protein nuclease cleavage gels were conducted to better understand the reactivity of zinc DFsc proteins.
