Artist Statement
As an artist, I find inspiration in the intricacies of human nature and the beauty of life found in the world around us. My work reflects my exploration of emotions, memories, and connections, expressed through various mediums like oil paint and mixed media. Through my art, I strive to inspire introspection and reflection in the viewer. I like to encourage them to explore their own thoughts and emotions by leaving elements open to interpretation rather than making their meaning too obvious. In addition, my goal is to unveil aspects of myself that may be unfamiliar to others, while also disseminating my cultural Brazilian heritage and personal experiences through artistic expression.
Following my experience abroad in Italy, my artistic inspiration has been profoundly shaped by the richness of that encounter. Every sight and creation bears the imprint of Italy's influence. This opportunity stands as a pivotal moment in my life, one that I am determined to leverage in order to deepen my study of the exquisite Renaissance art that captivated me. My primary emphasis is on delving into the complexities of the human form and refining my proficiency in realism. Italy has infused my artistic journey with newfound purpose, igniting a fervent dedication to uncovering the beauty inherent in the world around me. I am drawn to the interplay of light and shadow as well as texture and form, using these elements to convey depth and complexity in my compositions. My artistic process is one of experimentation and spontaneity, allowing intuition to guide my creative expression. I believe that art has the power to transcend language and culture, serving as a universal form of communication that connects us all.
