Description
A series of paintings on canvas and paper affixed to a faux-stele made of wood. Presented as part of the 2025 Annual Student Exhibit in the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College.
Artist Statement
This piece is a mimic of an ancient Mayan Stele, which was a vertical pillar engraved with pictograms meant to tell a story. This piece will also serve a similar purpose, but as opposed to displaying a story of some hard-fought battle, this would be to tell the story of the process that goes into making something for the Annual Student Exhibition. By using my experiments on canvas and paper that may not make it into my final exhibition, I hope to properly convey this journey that I have undergone throughout the course of this semester.
