Artist Statement
These pieces represent the third stage of mimicry that is present within my exhibition: the mimicry of the digital. These pieces are the representation of the nature of digital mediums, such as computerized works, to mimic the natural world–a concept that has become much more prevalent with the rise of generative AI. Using the airbrush as well as grid-based painting, these works attempt to evoke a strange feeling of nostalgia, or even sorrow, within the viewer.
