Artist Statement
Puppeteer is a work depicting a woman's battle to be heard in a world where we are expected to stay silent. This piece shows a woman breaking away from her puppet master as he ties her back; screaming but unheard. The line breaking free from the woman reflects a sense of hope that the future brings, hope that we will one day be heard and respected as much as a man.
