Introducing Leannie Jusino, who is the head of Commuter Central and Assistant Director of Student Engagement at Ursinus College. She started her job here on June 5th, 2023, and it's her first job after graduating from grad school in Allentown in May of 2023. She knew from the start that this job was for her, knowing it was something new and exciting and loves to engage with fellow students. She is originally from Philadelphia and grew up in Center City. Her family is Puerto Rican, and she vacations there with family every year. She is also a big Philly sports fan, especially the Eagles, as growing up in Philly was a big influence on her. Outside of work, Leannie loves to spend time with family, her boyfriend Melvin, and her niece and nephew who are 6 and 7, doing family game nights together. She also loves to read, enjoys going to the gym, along with traveling and going to the beach.
As the head of Commuter Central and Student Engagement, she does so much! For her job, she is there as a mentor and friend to everyone and builds a sense of belonging for commuters and transfer students creating an inclusive environment for everyone. She puts a lot of work into the Commuter Central lounge in the Library, providing snacks, comfy seating, games, and fun events for everyone. She reaches out to students and sends emails on what’s upcoming along with helping oversee clubs and events and improving student engagement. For future goals with her job, she hopes to conduct more training on clubs and leadership roles for commuters to get involved in. Leannie is a huge asset to the Ursinus community, who truly cares about everyone and works hard to make a difference giving commuters and transfer students the college experience everyone gets.
