Robin is a very well-known campus security guard at Ursinus and has been working here for two years. You could ask almost anyone on campus, and they would know Robin the Campo guard. She is loved by all on campus for the positive presence and attitude she brings with her. She is always giving out candy and toys which all the students love to receive. She even hides toys around campus for people to find. She says: “They love to find them. It makes their day.” Robin loves to work here, not just for the money or because she likes working in security, but because she loves kids and interaction. She enjoys getting to know us, and she loves one-on-one conversations with the students. She likes being able to keep us safe, and knowing that she has a hand in it makes her happy. She wants us to enjoy our college experience - it's what makes her want to be here. She is currently waiting to get surgery on her knee, which has kept her off campus recently. She hates being away from campus and misses the students.

Robin didn't even apply here - she was called one day and told that they wanted her because she was “full of life experiences”. Before working here, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a med tech for 45 years. In 2024, just last year, she graduated with an Associates in Paralegal and Business Administration from Lansdale School of Business. Some seniors from Ursinus even came to her graduation to show support. She is from Lancaster and notes that as a kid she was a “bad kid”; she had always got in fights in school. She competed in boxing and powerlifting for a year and even took 3rd in semi-nationals in boxing. She now likes to do bead art and loves to dance, even winning a Pennsylvania State Championship.

Family is very important to her and she makes it a point to visit at least someone every week. She has two brothers, a sister, three grandkids, and four great granddaughters. Her favorite place on campus is Bomberger auditorium, as it is the only original room left in the building. She loves to go in there, look at the wood carvings all around the room as she finds it beautiful. When she needs a mental break, she will go sit in there and stare at the carvings. Robin is one of the most beloved people on campus and Ursinus would not be the same without her.
