Sam Campo is an inspiring figure in the world of sports administration and coaching. Her career is rooted in a lifelong passion for sports and helping others. From her early years playing softball, volleyball, and basketball, Sam’s love for athletics grew into a dream of becoming a coach. However, by the time she finally found herself in a coaching position, that dream had faded from her mind. One day, she joked with her mom about how far off from her original plan she had gone. Her mom laughed, revealing that Sam had written about her dream of coaching back in grade school. Then coaching led to a role as Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Operations at Ursinus College. Her work encompasses everything from scheduling and game contracts to collaborating with coaches and athletes, allowing her to make a significant impact on the athletic community on a broader scale.

Despite the chaos of her role, Sam thrives in the dynamic environment, finding fulfillment in the creative and logistical challenges she faces each day. She fondly recalls her time playing on the college’s softball field, which deepens her connection to Ursinus. Outside of work, Sam is a devoted mother and a Disney and Harry Potter enthusiast. She emphasizes the importance of community and relationships, stating:

“My hope would be that I would be known as a passionate campus leader and an advocate for athletics with a student-first mentality. I love building strong relationships throughout the community. Hard work, commitment, and dedication to my work are core values that started long ago when I first started playing sports. I work on every day staying grateful, holding myself accountable, being fearless and trusting the process. Everyone’s journey is different. Mine has taken me to Ursinus College, where I can be a part of an amazing community of people that feel like family.”
