Diesen beyden Ehegatten, als: Johann/Heilman und seiner Ehelichen Hausfrau/Anna Maria eine geborne Heilman ist eine/tochter zur Welt geboren; im Jahr unsers Herrn Jesu 1774/den 12 Tag April um __Uhr __mitags, im Zeichen des/_______und den 14 Tag Maÿ zur heiligen/Taufe gebracht, wobey ihr der Name Catharina gegeben/ward. Taufzeugen waren Anstasius Heilman und seine frau/Dieses Kind ist als ein Glied in die Gemeinschaft der Heiligen, durch/das Bad der Wiedergeburt und Erneurung des Heiligen Geistes, wie/St. Paulus lehret, Titum im 3, v. 5.6.7. auf und/angenommen worden./geboren in Lebanon Taunschip

Ich bin getauft ob ich gleich sterbe,/Was schadet mir das kühle Grab,/Ich weis mein Vaterland und Erbe,/Das ich bey Gott im Himmel hab,/Nach meinem Tod, ist mir bereit,/Die Himmels=Freud das Feyer=Kleid.

Ich bin getauft, ich steh im Bunde,/Durch meine Tauf mit meinem Gott,/So sprech ich stets mit frohem Munde,/In Creutz, in Trübsal Angst und Noth,/Ich bin getauft, des freu’ ich mich,/Die Freude bleibet ewiglich.

Translation

Right holy and blessed is a Christian, who with the Baptism gifted is.

The little crowds of children will be buried in Jesus’ blood. How should the heart of the mother not have joy in that.

To both of these spouses, Johann Heilman and his legal wife Anna Maria a born Heilman is a daughter to the world born, in the year of our Lord Jesus 1774 the 12th day of April at o’clock in the sign of the and the 14th day of May brought to the holy Baptism where she was given the name Catharina. Baptismal sponsors were Anstasius Heilman and his wife. This child is as a member in the community of the holy through the bath of rebirth and renewal of the Holy Ghost, as St. Paul teaches, Titus 3, verse 5,6,7 in the Lutheran church is taken up and into. born in Lebanon Township.

The elaborate handwriting infill of this fraktur is similar to one pictured in Stopp,1:93 of the same edition. The mother’s maiden and married names on this piece are the same, possibly a mistake. This is the only copy of this edition that lists a location, written in at bottom as there was no place for it in the print section.
