This issue notes that Dr. Henry William Super conducted the opening exercises at Ursinus College due to the sudden death of Dr. J. H. A. Bomberger's sister in Lancaster.

This issue also notes that Reverend H. T. Spangler will be traveling on business for Ursinus College. In his absence, J. W. Meminger, a theology student, will attend to Spangler's congregation.
