Folder 1-8, Document 48

Washington, D. C.

March 31, 1909.

My dear Mr. Baldwin:

Many thanks for your kind note of the 26th, supplementary to what you said the other day with regard to ex-Senator Washburn, of whom I had already heard so pleasantly from Senator Root.

Allow me to take this opportunity to thank you also for the Sun editorial which you sent, showing that Mr. Taft had written for the National Magazine. This argument was unanswerable, although I wish to add that I had already given the National Magazine that precious article, fully satisfied by what you yourself were good enough to tell me.

With kind regards, I remain always,

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Elbert F. Baldwin,
287 Fourth Avenue,
New York City.
