Student Exhibition Year
Oil painting on canvas depicting a self-portrait of the artist with her dog. Inspired by "Portrait of Marianne Holbech" by George Romney at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Presented as part of the 2022 Annual Student Exhibit in the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College.
24 x 18 inches
For this remix assignment I decided to insert my young adult self with my fifteen-year-old childhood dog, Lucy. In doing this it is communicating my thoughts about us aging together and looking back at all of our memories over the years. I feel like this piece is a good summary of almost all of my work over the last four years because I create artwork that is narratively driven and nostalgic. I make art as a reflection of my life, and about the people and memories that hold a lot of significance to me.
