Description

Digital photograph of Colleen Grzywacz and family.

Panel Text

Colleen Grzywacz has been a member of the Ursinus community for 11 years, working as the Administrative Assistant for the Media & Communications Studies and Art & Art History Departments. She is also a member of the Ursinus Safety Committee and enjoys how this position has educated her about chemical pick-ups and hazardous equipment in the studio spaces. From her office space in the front lobby, Colleen is always a familiar face in the halls of Ritter, always willing to chat or say hello. Colleen consistently shares her welcoming attitude and friendly words with the Ursinus community and ensures everyone always has what they need. This kind spirit perhaps stems from the impact family has on Colleen’s life, as a wife of 32 years, mother to two daughters, and grandmother to three children. The family is very close-knit, with Colleen living across the street from her daughter and three grandchildren, who is right next door to Colleen’s sister. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic this past year, the family relies heavily on each other and are always in constant communication. Nature and the outdoors play an important role in Colleen’s life as well, as their home borders woods leading to Evansburg State Park. Outside her home sits piles of cut wood to fill the fireplace and bonfire pit, a gorgeous koi pond built by her husband, and multiple flower beds and gardening boxes.
