Digital photograph of Deb Giandonato working in the C-Store at Ursinus College.

Panel Text

Deb Giandonato has been working at Ursinus College since October 2020. She knew this place was different from her other jobs and was scared at first, but the students made the transition easier. She loves getting asked questions about what different things can be used for and sees herself as sort of the “C-Store mom”. Being a mom is nothing new to Deb, she has three kids of her own and has been the team mom for many of their teams throughout the years. Her youngest son is a lacrosse player for his high school, she is always excited to pull into work and see the stadium lights on for practice. She loves when teams come in after practice and many people know her face from the C-Store, her managers joke and even call her the “face of the store”. Deb is here 6 nights a week, along with having a job at a bakery. She enjoys horse riding and taking pictures of nature in her spare time, stating she always has a camera on her ready to go. She used to run track and cross country and was even a model at one point in her life. Ursinus was supposed to be a temporary job for her, but instead she felt right at home on campus because of how friendly and social everyone has been. Throughout her short time here, she has formed many meaningful relationships with students and other faculty and is excited for the opportunities that are still to come.
